“Marion is most passionate about helping others to flourish.”
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Marion first experienced leadership and coaching as a U.S. Army infantryman. After two enlistments and an honorable discharge, he began his career in non-profit leadership during which he held executive, academic, and pastoral roles in several cities across the southern United States. A lifelong learner, Marion earned his doctoral degree in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville); shortly after that, he received a Certificate of Diversity from the University of Tennessee (Memphis). Moreover, he is a John Maxwell certified speaker, trainer, coach, & teacher - and a sought-after lecturer, evangelist, and revivalist.
“I am committed to using my gifts to inspire others toward freedom, flourishing, and fulfillment.”
Marion has been a Rotarian for seventeen years, is a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, and serves on the Faith-Based Advisory Council of the International African American Museum (Charleston). He is father to Dina, Josh, & Zion, husband to Dr. Ev Platt, and a neighbor to everyone.
When Marion isn’t helping other people realize their potential, he can be found fishing in a Lowcountry creek, running long distances in the sun, fussing over his vegetable garden, or quietly listening to jazz music.
Marion offers individualized coaching, group coaching, and event speaking to aid individuals and organizations yearning to fulfill their goals and potential.
